Our Practice
At Smile Care Burnie our Surgery is modern and purpose built with the latest hygiene and sterilising equipment, Digital X-Rays and Hi-caps.
We have completed an Accreditation Process to ensure we are operating at the highest level of infection control. This ensures we stay up to date with the latest practice and sterilizing techniques
The cost of an initial consultation may vary depending on the need for x-rays. Cleaning may also be needed during the first appointment. When making your appointment or talking with the dentist and hygienist please feel free to ask about the cost of a procedure or request a written quote for work required.

Dr. Alvin Kwan
BOHDS, GradDipDent, FICOI, FCII
Dr Alvin Kwan graduated from Griffith University, Qld. After gaining extensive experience in public hospitals in QLD and private practice in rural WA for a few years, he moved to Sydney to serve the community.
Dr Alvin enjoys performing all general procedures, he is also passionate about cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, complex reconstruction, and oral surgery. To provide the best possible treatments to his patients with high quality and long-term prognosis, Dr Alvin has never stopped updating his knowledge and skills for the latest advances in techniques, technologies, and materials.
Dr Alvin has earned fellowships in the California Implant Institute and the International Congress of Oral Implantologist. He is a qualified Invisalign provider. He is completing his Master Degree of Science in Aesthetic Dentistry from the prestigious university King’s College London (ranked no 1 in the 2020 QS World University in Dentistry) and he is also continually pursuing excellence in dental implant surgery through Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry course at the University of Sydney.
Listening to and addressing your concerns is what Dr Alvin is here for. He believes in providing gentle care is the best way to look after his patients and help them with their anxieties. Patients describe him as caring and humorous. A dental visit should not be stressful.
Originally from Hong Kong, Dr Alvin is multilingual, fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. He lived and studied in 3 different countries around the globe. This has given him unique experiences and exposed him to different cultures around the world.
